Do you ever wonder if your prayers are answered? Do you get things showing up in your life that don’t feel like they are?
Ask and it is given.
It is done as you believe.
These two universal principles go together so beautifully but many people either don’t ask for what they truly desire or don’t believe it will be done as they have asked.
Scripture says (Mark 11:24), pray believing and you will have what you ask for. Ernest Holmes also used the bible as a reference point, referring to James 1:5-18 in regards to asking faith, believing. He says, “If we lack wisdom, we are to come to the Source of all knowledge and we shall receive it. But how are we to ask? In faith, believing. He further says, “Faith in God and in ourselves should be consciously generated.”
This is the example of the two principles coming together. Pray (ask) believing requires you to ask of the Universe and have faith it will be done. It also means that if you ask for that which is less than you deserve or truly desire, and you believe you will get what you ask for, you wind up with less than you really wanted. You must consciously generate questions that will align you with your heart’s true desires.
Now don’t get all mussed. This applies to all of us. There isn’t a person today who hasn’t asked for something, knowingly or unknowingly, that they really didn’t want. Or what seems like no answer is the actual answer. There are times we are grateful for unanswered prayers!
Much like a child asking their parents for something, sometimes it is yes…sometimes it is no…sometimes it is not now…and sometimes it is ‘if and when…’. You know if and when you clean your room you can go to the movies with your friends. If and when you work hard and save enough money you can buy a car.
Let’s consider something else. Quite often the issue isn’t with the answer at all, but with what we are asking.
What I want you to do is stop asking limiting questions. Don’t limit God. Don’t limit the Universe! Don’t limit yourself.
That means you have to stop asking for a job with company X that will cover your bills and start asking, “what lifestyle is possible and how can that show up for you?”
- Stop asking for a husband and start asking, “what is possible for your personal fulfillment in a relationship?”
- Stop asking for an apartment and start asking, “what is possible for you to have a home that makes you feel safe and comfortable, and is better than you can imagine?”
Do you see the pattern here? How often do we limit our possibilities by placing our own mental barriers on the questions and prayers we ask? What would be possible if you removed those limitations and let the Universe work out the details?
That would be better than you can imagine. Now, how does it get any better than that?
